Ballet

Taylor also had her final ballet class of the session. She LOVES ballet! She has a great time dancing across the floor and twirling around the room! Taylor insists on wearing her favorite blue leotard and chatters most of the class...... sounds like her dad!

Gymnastics

Taylor had her final gymnastics class of the session last week. Here are some pics of her in action. Hayden is her biggest fan and cheers her on from the side! Her coach is amazing and always includes Hayden in the stamps at the end of class and even let her get a ribbon with the rest of the class. Yes Hayden also has an obsession with sunglasses like her big sis! The first pic is of Tay and Mika, her buddy from preschool and gymnastics.

Dress Up

The Christiansen Family came over a couple of weeks ago and we had a good time! It is always fun to see the kids together and how differently they interact with each other as they get older. Taylor and Rainer sat at the kitchen table and decorated cookies with A LOT of icing. Then all four decided to play dress up and dance/flutter around the room. Does the football game in the background make it look more manly? Nope! Jenny and Eric were great sports!

We were extremely grateful that Grandma and PopPop were able to come and take care of Taylor and Hayden while we were in Mexico. The girls were very excited to spend time with their grandparents and it definitely made it a lot easier to leave them when we knew that they were in good hands! Taylor had her first preschool field trip to the pumpkin patch and Grandma, PopPop, and Hayden were able to join in the fun! Taylor said that she had fun making tea for Grandma and playing games with both grandparents before bed. I think Hayden really enjoyed all of the hugs and kisses! It was great to see Grandma and PopPop before they head down under to visit the rest of the Walker Family :)

Mexico

We made it to Mexico! We were supposed to go last spring but it was cancelled due to the swine flu. The Mayan Riviera was beautiful and the opportunity to relax and spend time together was great! It was very strange to sit by the pool and actually close my eyes instead of chasing little people around the pool edge! Of course Brady hates to just sit in the sun so he played A LOT of pool volleyball. We did venture off of the resort to take an ATV tour which was a lot more challenging that we thought.... I almost ran into a tree after hitting a tire on the rocks. Brady was behind me and thought that it was funny... nice. We rested our feet in a sink hole, checked out a cave, and saw the palm tree where the Corona commercial was filmed. Another night we went to Playa del Carmen, a nearby town. It was a great place to shop but police with machine guns were a little intimidating! We ended up having dinner on a rooftop with friends... lots of fun! I was able to talk Brady into a massage and pedicure! He loves them even though he will not admit it! Surprisingly, we caught a Michael Jackson tribute-- mexico style. It was actually really good with all of the hits! The vacation went so fast but we were ready to get home to the girls!

Taylor's First Official Dentist Appointment

Taylor had her first cleaning visit last month. She was really excited to go after she had so much fun on her emergency trip in February. Taylor knocked a tooth loose and cut her tongue in gymnastics. To my surprise she popped into the chair, opened wide, and followed all instructions like a pro! The only bummer was when the dentist told her that she had to get rid of her pacifier as soon as possible because it was putting a hole in her smile. After the appointment Taylor and I talked about what the dentist said and I suggested we give the pacifiers to babies. She was not a fan of that idea! Then I pitched the Passy Fairy and she totally bought into it! We took a family trip to Target and she picked out a princess writing set for the fairy to bring if she gave up the pacifier. Of course Brady went in and bought it while we were getting into the car. Taylor handed me her the pacifier before her nap and that was the end of the pacifier! If we'd known it would be that easy we would have done it ages ago! She was so excited to get her present from the fairy! I think I was more upset than she was... one of her last baby possessions...gone. At first it appeared she had given up the nap with the passy and then I started to think... dental work.... my sanity....hole in her smile....my sanity! Thankfully she is back to napping! Hayden has been working on a full grill and all of them are almost in! I think Brady can confirm that after she bit him today as he tried to take something out of her mouth :) I know that all of these teeth are gonna be falling out before we know it... it does go too fast!

The Girls Go To Blacksburg!

We finally took the girls to see the Hokies in Blacksburg! Thanks to The Lion King and High School Musical we had a very pleasant drive! We introduced Hayden to Macado's for the first time and she got a kick out of all there was to see. On game day we were prepared to tailgate in the most perfect location... right next to the Duck Pond. It was drizzling and then poured for a couple of hours! Despite Brady's best effort to talk Taylor out of her first game, she insisted that she go see the Hokies and the cheerleaders. I took Hayden back to the hotel for a nap and expected a call to pick Taylor up any minute. I started to worry when the first half was over, it was still raining, and I didn't get a call. FINALLY during the fourth quarter Brady called to say that he told Taylor the game was over and they had to leave. She showed up at our hotel door with purple lips and soaking wet clothes. She had a blast and is a trooper! The Hokies beat Miami! The next day was finally sunny and we were able to get out and take some pictures. Taylor and Hayden kicked the soccer ball on the drillfield... quite a moment for Brady I'm sure. Then it was to the Duck Pond to feed the ducks. The girls had a blast feeding them an entire loaf of bread. However, Hayden decided that she would rather eat a lot of her bread. That's our girl! We had a wonderful time and have been listening to Taylor beg to go back! She taught Hayden how to do the Let's Go.... Hokies cheer which is hilarious! Hayden just yells GoGokies!
