The Great Snow of 2010

Elway enjoyed eating the snow

First thing in the morning..... untouched

We started the day with snowman pancakes

Taylor helped make chili

Wow were we excited to actually get a great snowfall in Virginia! It was absolutely gorgeous and the girls were so excited to wake up to see snow on the ground and trees! Since it was Saturday we started the day with chocolate chip snowman pancakes and Taylor helped make some chili. Then we began the what feels like an hour long process of getting the snow gear on the kids. I think Hayden made it about ten minutes before she wanted to go in for a snack and hot chocolate. Taylor, on the other hand, had a blast. Fortunately we have wonderful neighbors and they let us borrow a sled. Here is our weekend in pictures.

Sisterly Love

Random..crazy dressed girl pulling sis in a wagon holding a monkey?!

Hayden has decided that she would like to poop on the potty so Taylor decided to help out

Sick Week

Over the last two weeks we have had a lot time in the house together! Last Monday Taylor woke from her nap with a high fever which continued throughout the week. It was a nasty virus! The virus ended with a double ear infection and one miserable tot. Taylor was thrilled with the idea of taking her favorite blanket and Dora pillow downstairs to make a bed on the couch. The plan was for Taylor to relax and watch movies but Hayden just tortured her instead! Taylor missed out on a week of school and all of her activities... she was devastated. The following week we took Hayden in to find that she had Bronchiolitis and a double ear infection as well!!! Not our best weeks! After a lot of medication both girls have recovered and back to their happy selves!

Ava was not so sure... can't blame her!

Hayden loved her

A couple of weeks ago we were able to catch up with some good friends at Pierce's. Taylor and Hayden met Ava for the very first time and were completely taken by their little friend. Hayden called her Baby Aba and just wanted to get close and check her out. Matt and Katherine were also in town for their baby shower. Baby Camden should arrive in February and we cannot wait to meet him too! Let the countdown begin!

My Birthday

I had a great birthday this year! Brady took some time out of his work day to attend morning activities with us which was a big help with soccer and gymnastics. Then the family made me a cookie cake.... very yummy! After the girls went to bed we ordered Outback to go. It was so nice to have a delicious uninterrupted meal together. Family and friends made it special with fb comments and phone calls. Thank you! 28 is going to be a great year ;)

Happy 7th Birthday Elway!

On January 10th we celebrated Elway's 7th Birthday! He got some of his favorite bones and was treated to his favorite... Frosty Paws Ice Cream! The girls loved singing to him and thought it was hysterical that he actually wore a birthday hat! Elway may be crazy but we LOVE him :)

Here are some pictures of Taylor's special day at school. Brady and I were able to arrange our schedules so that we could both be there at different times of the day. I was there to be the dorky mom with the video camera and our regular camera to start the day. She looked so adorable standing in front of the class wearing her birthday hat. Taylor did the weather, day of the week, held the flag for the pledge, and rang the activity bell. However the greatest part for her was being the line leader! Line leader is apparently the coolest position in the class :) Too cute! After getting to sit in the special reading chair for a story she started her lessons for the day and Brady took over. He was then the nerdy dad that filmed and photographed the birthday song, candles, and snack time. It was a great day! How did we finish it? With an H1N1 booster..... which involved A LOT of screaming! Nothing says Happy Half Birthday like a shot!!!!

Taylor Celebrates Her Half Birthday!

Taylor just celebrated her half birthday at preschool. I will admit that I did feel bad thinking that her birthday was during the summer so she was never going to be able to have that special day at school or bring in the cupcakes.... I know I know crazy! I was happy to find out that her school recognizes half birthdays if a birthday falls during the summer so everyone is happy :) The only trouble is explaining why gifts are not involved! Taylor was super excited to make a SPECIAL treat for her class. We are encouraged to bring only healthy nutritious snacks for the kids but I figured that cream cheese icing on the cupcakes and bananas on the side should be okay ;) She got to stay up late to help decorate her treats and she was thrilled! Of course she used lots of purple sprinkles!

The Gang

We finally meet Kavan!

Kris, Jen and Kavan made it back to the states and we were able to briefly catch up with them in Richmond. It was the first time we had all been together since Hayden and Kavan were born. Kavan was really cute and seems like a happy little boy! Hopefully we will be able to spend more time together in the years to come.
